We had our Christmas festivities, we welcomed a new year in, and we saw the conclusion of our winter event. So that can only mean one thing, it was time to kick off our club summer series!
Our summer series kicked off on a bit of a wet note. Due to heavy rainfall the field was unusable. However that wouldn’t stop us flying, shifting gears and making use of the MAB to put on a casual tiny whoop session.

Fortunately by the time the second session rolled around, the bad weather had finally broken and we were able to fly outdoors! It was good to finally stretch out those props and fly some bigger quads.

Series Race 3 saw a good friend and supporter of SGDC come visit us. That’s right, the Italian fox himself Finz FPV! There were lots of laughs shared, very close races and a lot of broken parts. But most importantly of all, good memories were made on that day. We always look forward to Finz coming back and racing with us again.

Series Race 4 and the bad weather had reared it’s ugly face again. We all pushed through as best possible, but by the second round the wind had picked up and the gazebos started doing powerloops! The active pilots safely landed and disarmed and luckily no one was hurt. We decided to vacate back to the cafe, and grab a burger from the BBQ that was on.

After a packed BQE the week prior, Series Race 5 saw a more relaxed theme. Taking the time to wind down whilst also still flying, it was a session that was definitely needed! In the afternoon we put on a multi-class handicap format, shaking things up and keeping things fresh.

On to series Race 6 and we saw many of our pilots bringing their A game in preparation for champs the following weekend. The initial idea was to run another GQ in the latter half of the day, however after having so much fun with the track we decided to just carry on as we were. We also saw appearances from minus_one, dr00min and Pulquero and was great to catch up with them and see how far they’ve progressed.

Due to the wet weather for 2 of our sessions, our first floodlit event was utilised as part summer series. We practiced through the afternoon into the evening, where the LED gates were turned on and things really lit up. We also wished a happy birthday to MartinFPV, where we topped our mental energy up with cake!

We definitely battled with forces outside our control this Summer Series, but we pulled through and made the best of a bad situation. We want to thank both our sponsors and participating pilots for being part of our Club Summer Series. Without you, none of this could be possible – See you in the Club summer Series 2025.
