Why become a member?

Joining SGDC is a great way to meet likeminded drone enthusiasts, find new friends, learn new skills and improve your drone flying abilities.

Club membership has the following benefits:

  1. Free access to our practice sessions, all day Saturday and Thursday evnings – run weekly between March and October
  2. Free access to our whoop races – run once a month between October and March
  3. Free access to our flood lit sessions – run once a month between October and March
  4. Priority sign up for our events including Multi GP, winter events and summer 2023 internal events.
  5. Access to the club’s discord and chat group
  6. Access to YOSC toilets, café and onsite parking
  7. Help troubleshooting issues
  8. Entry into any internal club competition (new for 2023)
  9. Access to RotorHazard timing & race control in a case equipment (new for 2024)

Our club is friendly and welcoming to everyone of all skills and abilities

As a club we try to do as many activities, which appeal to all types of interests. This includes Velocidrone simulator sessions, wing flying as well as indoor and outdoor drone flying.

How much does it cost?

The club membership is £10.00 per month, which will renew on the 20th of each month. Payments on the 20th will cover your membership for the next calender month (1st to the 1st)

There is no contract and you can cancel anytime. Please email membership@sgdc.co.uk should you wish to cancel

Where does your money go?

Most of the money goes towards the sites we use to practice. The rest is used to improve our equipment, such as gates, timing systems, and advertising as and when needed.

How to join?

You will need to have insurance cover with BMFA or FPVUK to join as a member. We only accept FPVUK for your first year of membership after which we require you to switch to BMFA to comply with our club level insurance agreement with the BMFA

To complete the signup process the following is required:

  1. Complete the form below and submit it
  2. Ask to join ‘South Glos Drone Club’ on the BMFA justgo portal (if you are a BMFA member)
  3. Be a member of our facebook group (if you use facebook)
  4. Setup a standing order to our bank account
BMFA or FPVUK are accepeted however when your FPVUK insurance expires we require you to switch to BMFA to support our club level insurance
This is so that we can add you to our member group chat, which is the primary method of communication
